d. Ethics for Interpreters Workshop (1 Day)

£99.00 inc. VAT

“I really found the ethics scenarios useful and the examples given. It has really widened my knowledge on approaches to take in order to resolve them.”

“It was great to learn tips on how to get out of difficult and embarrassing situations in the heat of the moment and buy myself breathing space and time to compose myself if the situation is emotionally charged.”

One of the most challenging aspect of working as an interpreter is the many ethical dilemmas that you encounter. How do you break bad news? How do you cope with situations that you are not comfortable with? What actions can you take to make sure you act professionally while doing the best for all parties? This workshop addresses real life ethical dilemmas and discusses how to deal with them.

This is a live, day long (10:00 – 16:30) facilitator led workshop held in one of the International School of Linguists (ISL) centres across the UK and brings together practising interpreters at different stages in their careers to discuss and share experiences relating to ethical dilemmas. This is a great opportunity for you to meet fellow professionals and enhance your skills and knowledge of the subject.

The next Ethics Workshop will be held in Farringdon, London and Leeds on 16 February 2016 at 10:00 – 16:30.
