I am experienced Lithuanian and Russian Translator/Interpreter based in Ipswich, Suffolk, U.K.
My Interpreting career started in 1998 back in my country. I was studying at University for a Master’s degree in Linguistics and in 2006 I moved to the UK. I deliver a high-quality Interpreting service in the public sector. Currently I work on a freelance basis for few agencies Including Capita and thebigword.

Specialisms: Police, Probation, Solicitors, Courts, Education, NHS and Social Services.

Qualifications: Level 2 certificate in Diversity & Equality, Level 4 certificate in PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in Life Long Sector), Level 2 certificate in Business and Administration, Certificate in European Law & Management (3 year training) and M.A. (Hons) in Linguistics.

Anna Newman


I have been working as a freelance Polish Interpreter for the past 10 years for various agencies and The London Borough of Brent and I am currently doing my Level 3 Assessor Qualification.
My knowledge and experience is extensive and priceless. I have ‘seen it all’. I have done around 12000 hrs of interpreting in various situations and provided my services for many different clients and agencies. Many of the situations in which I have interpreted were of sensitive nature and very often stressful and emotionally challenging.

Ajub Janbaz


As a natural linguist, I have had the opportunity to test my ability in a wide range of contexts, from learning 5 languages (Pashto, Dari, Russian, Spanish and English) in which I am proficient, to teaching, interpreting and translating. I have over 15 years’ experience as an interpreter/translator in a variety of fields.
I believe my academic and professional track record is testament to an aptitude which I have been told is rare. For the past 3 1/2 years I’ve also been working as a linguist assessor for ISL and thebigword. It’s a job I thoroughly enjoy as it presents me with an ample opportunities to ensure linguists are highly qualified and competent.

For the last 8 years I have worked as a freelance Russian/Ukrainian interpreter and translator.
I have worked for many agencies doing a range of face to face interpreting and telephone interpreting as well as translating. At present I work for thebigword, LanguageLine and many other agencies. I am an Associate to the Chartered Institute of Linguists and the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.

Qualifications: BA in History, Certificate in public service interpreting, NVQ in Pharmaceutical studies, Certificate in Business Skills communication, Professional studies ICSA and MSc in Corporate Governance.

Pam Kaur


I am an experienced Interpreter in Punjabi (Indian) based in West Yorkshire. I have been able to utilise my bilingual skills in a wide range of contexts.
My professional interpreting career started in approximately 2007, although I have been interpreting for family and friends on an informal basis for a very long time. I have worked for various Language Service Providers to conduct face to face and telephone interpreting assignments. I am also registered with the NRPSI. I am involved in the assessment and verification of accredited interpreting qualifications that we deliver at ISL. I strongly believe in providing quality interpreting services to limited English speakers who would otherwise find it difficult to communicate. Helping people access their rights and giving them the correct advice gives me great job satisfaction.

During my role I have gained a wealth of experience in Interpreting. I have become aware of every possible scenario during interpreting and how to overcome difficulties involved. I’m also an assessor working with ISL, providing support and guidance to new interpreters, assessing their assignments and providing professional and constructive feedback, making sure they progress and develop in their journey to become an interpreter.
